Sorry we haven't blogged in a while. We've been quite busy with our new addition to the Sullivan family. Andy is so precious and sweet but we haven't had much sleep all week. At the beginning he was wanting to eat around the clock. Now he's eating about every 2 hours and he has his days & nights mixed up. Several mornings it's been 4:30 or later and I find myself still awake with a newborn staring at me. Needless to say we are very sleep deprived. It's difficult trying to take care of Abby's needs as well. Tom has been home most of the week and has done his radio shows in the afternoon.
We took Andy for his checkup on Monday and he had gained 1 oz putting him at 8lbs 8oz. His big Sissy, Abby Grace was sick on Monday as well so we took both of our children (how strange that sounds) to the doctor. She had red throat but our doctor wouldn't give us any medicine. She missed pre-school Tuesday and on Thursday she was complaining of her ear hurting. Tom took her back to the dr. and they said she had red ear (this time she got an antibiotic). I'm not very happy with our doc. On Thursday she saw a different doctor because ours was out of town.
We truly got a dose of what having two children is like. I was just hoping this wouldn't be the week we would be broken in. Thankfully, Abby is feeling better. Unfortunatley she missed her Easter party at school Thursday. I'm praying Andy doesn't get sick!
Last Saturday, Tom took Abby to a huge Easter Egg Hunt at a church nearby. They had 25,000 eggs. The wind was blowing like crazy that day so more than likely that's when Abby got sick. She had a ball at the petting zoo and got to pet some of the animals.
Abby loves her baby brother and gives him lots of kisses. It's been hard to keep her out of Andy's face. She loves to help get diapers and anything we need. I asked her today if she wanted to send him back to the Stork and she said "NO!"
Mom & Dad left Monday to go back to Piney Campground. It was hard to see them go but we're so glad they got to come back. They made it about an hour before Andy was born (just in time after driving all night Wed.) Abby got to spend some good time with them and they got to meet their new grandson.
We are so thankful that Andy is doing great and thriving. He is very strong willed and very strong physically. He looks just like Abby when she was a baby and I sometimes catch myself calling him Abby or saying her instead of him. We are so blessed and can't wait to see how Andy changes and grows through the next several months. Abby can't wait until he's really big enough to play with.
Please continue to pray for us in that Andy would figure out his days & nights and we can get more rest in the weeks to come. I've never forgotten how hard the first 2 weeks were with Abby so I'm hoping we're halfway there. Thank you all for your prayers and hope everyone has a great Easter Sunday.
